“Missions.” It’s a word we bandy around quite easily and frequently in church circles. Perhaps it conjures up images of potluck dinners, slide shows and foreign sounding names. If so, then you have been introduced to the concept. But when Jesus gave the first Christians their marching orders, “Go into all the world and make disciples…”, was that what came to their minds? Fishermen, tentmakers, housewives, doctors, and lawyers, heard His words and took the challenge to heart. Though not all made missions their full time work, they all made it their full time passion.Missions is about more than perfunctory prayer, spare change thrown into an offering plate, a Jesus bumper sticker on your car… It is about sacrifice! It is about complete surrender to the Holy Spirit! It is about taking risks! It is truly an adventure!
What about you? Are you a spectator or a player? When was the last time you left your comfort zone to serve God? Do you feel too shy, uneducated or otherwise ill equipped to be involved in missions? GOOD! Now God can use you.
Before the foundation of the earth God prepared good works for you to do (Ephesians 2:10). That is why He made you exactly the way you are, that is why you have had the experiences you have had in life, and perhaps that is why you are reading this right now. Do not waste this opportunity to see God work in and through you in a new way.
It will stretch you, it will challenge you, it will take more than you can afford to give and give back more than you can imagine. It’s an adventure called missions! Join us!

There are so many needs in the country of Haiti, perhaps this is the reason God has given so many different gifts to this body of Christ. Where is your passion? What gifts and abilities has God given you?Homefront
This is our most vital area of need. Without a strong team in Canada, our ministry to Haiti will falter. How easily these important roles can begin to seem ordinary. We will not let that happen on this team—experience the adventure as you see God’s amazing provision, as your own walk with the Lord is deepened, as you realize that all missions begin at home.
- Prayer—the foundation of all missions. We need a team of intercessors, prayer vigils, 24 hour coverage...
- Financial support—organize fund raising events, find corporate sponsors, inspire others to give… If you want a heart for missions follow Jesus’ directions: give your treasure and then your heart will follow (Matt 6).
- Materials—building supplies, food for the hungry, clothes for the needy, bibles and tracts… the list of supplies to is endless. Who will find it? Who will organize it? Who will send it?
- Communications—newsletters, website maintenance, church updates…
